Organization Index

From the very start of the Jewish Friends of Palestine project, the organization directory/index has been the core of the project. Organizations are included due to their reaching the required criteria discussed on the About Us page. As always, inclusion in this index does not suggest or imply any affiliation, association, or even fondness for any other organization listed. In fact, some of the organizations listed are in active opposition to others, nevertheless, all the groups listed met the criteria, namely support for an end of the Occupation of the Territories conquered in 1967 and the sharing of Jerusalem/Al Quds. For those already familiar with this page, the Egroups and petition indices have been moved to a new page, Jewish Egroups, Lists & Petitions. Last Updated: 27 May 2007. New Entries tagged:

Jewish Peace Groups
The organizations in this section are largely grassroots activist groups, but also involve other non-governmental organizations and projects of interest.
Alternative Information Center
"The Alternative Information Center (AIC) is a joint Palestinian-Israeli organization which prioritizes political advocacy, critical analysis and information sharing on the Palestinian and Israeli societies as well as on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. In doing so, the AIC promotes responsible co-operation between Palestinians and Israelis based on the values of social and political justice, equality, solidarity, community involvement and respect for the full inalienable national rights of all Palestinian people."
Anarchists Against The Wall
"This is the site of an Israeli group known as “Anarchists Against the Wall” (AATW) which has been supporting the popular Palestinian resistance to the Israeli “separation wall”. This site does not contain and should not be understood as an official party line or a manifesto. The group has dedicated all its efforts to activities on the ground, and has left propaganda and the drawing of party lines to others."
Ariga Publishing
Ariga, based in Israel, carries reports and extensive links about the peace process, with an emphasis on peace groups and joint Israeli-Palestinian efforts.
The Arik Institute for Reconciliation Tolerance & Peace
"The Arik Institute has defined three main goals that guide its activities: 1) To bring Palestinians - advocates of peace and reconciliation - into the limelight of Israeli society (and possibly the global society) in an effort to promote reconciliation and peace. This is the purpose of the Joint Palestinian-Israeli Peace-Force, or J.P.I, for short. 2) To arouse Israeli and global awareness regarding the tragic consequences of the occupation and the effects it has on Israeli, Palestinian and global societies. The Institute acts to achieve this goal via P.R. campaigns, educational activities and the Internet. 3) To act within the Palestinian public, and promote an awareness among Palestinians regarding the psychological, security and political assurances that are necessities to the Israeli public."
Bat Shalom
"Bat Shalom is an Israeli national feminist grassroots organization of Jewish and Palestinian Israeli women working together for a genuine peace grounded in a just resolution of the Israel-Palestine conflict, respect for human rights, and an equal voice for Jewish and Arab women within Israeli society. ... We, the Jewish and Palestinian Israeli women of Bat Shalom, call upon all women to join our active struggle for peace and equality. We refuse to silently bear witness to the destruction of the hope and future of a peaceful reconciliation."
Black Laundry / Kvisa Shchora
""Kvisa Shchora" (Black Laundry) is a direct action group of lesbians, gays, bisexuals, transgenders and others against the occupation and for social justice. Kvisa Shchora tries to stress the connection between different forms of oppression - our own oppression as lesbians, gays and transpeople enhances our solidarity with members of other oppressed groups."
Black Laundry NYC
"In light of the events in Israel and the Territories, we are marching in support of Israeli and Palestinian Queers opposing the occupation. If you didn’t like the Bud Light truck in Brooklyn Pride, if you are interested in acknowledging the political roots of Gay pride and the intersections of oppressions, if you are sick of Christian-supremacy in the U.S., if you want to fight U.S. anti-Semitism directly rather than uncritically supporting Israel’s policies out of fear, if you believe that the oppressed can also be the oppressor, if you want to oppose racial profiling in the name of “national security,” if you’re sick of Bush’s anti-Semitic double-speak (“crusades,” “homeland security,” “axes of evil”), come join us for a banner and sign making party and/or march with us in NYC Pride."
Bloomington Jewish Alliance for Justice and Peace
"We are a group of Jews from across the Bloomington community who gathered together to articulate a vision for a peaceful resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. We represent a diverse spectrum of Jews, from secular to religious. We are guided by deeply held Jewish values. Some of us think of them in terms of seeking an ethical solution that provides social justice for all. Others among us are guided by reverence for the sacredness of life and the prophetic vision of nations living together under a canopy of peace and mutual respect. We are committed to Israel as a place where people can live safe and meaningful lives, free from the fear of violence and prejudice; we are equally committed to the creation of a Palestinian state that affords the same to its people."
Coalition of Women for Peace
"The Coalition of Women for Peace seeks to mobilize women in support of human rights and a just peace between Israel and its Arab neighbors, as we work to strengthen democracy within Israel. Our principles: 1) An end to the occupation. 2) The full involvement of women in negotiations for peace. 3) Establishment of the state of Palestine side-by-side with the state of Israel based on the 1967 borders. 4) Recognition of Jerusalem as the shared capital of two states. 5) Israel must recognize its share of responsibility for the results of the 1948 war, and cooperate in finding a just solution for the Palestinian refugees. 6) Opposition to the militarism that permeates Israeli society. 7) Equality, inclusion and justice for Palestinian citizens of Israel. 8) Equal rights for women and all residents of Israel. 9) Social and economic justice for Israel's citizens, and integration in the region. "
Colorado Jews for a Just Peace
"Colorado Jews for a Just Peace is a Jewish organization formed in response to the escalating violence in the Middle East, and holding as our basic principles the ideals of compassion, social justice, and the value of every human life. "
European Jews for a Just Peace
"We call for: 1. an immediate end of the occupation of the occupied territories: West Bank, Gaza and East Jerusalem with recognition of the 4th June 1967 borders; 2. complete withdrawal of all Jewish settlements in all the occupied territories; 3. the recognition of the right of both states to have Jerusalem as their capital; 4. the recognition by Israel of its part in the creation of the Palestinian refugee problem. Israel should recognise in principle the Palestinian right to return as a human right. The practical solution to the problem will come about by agreement between parties based on a just, fair and practical considerations. It will include compensation, the return to the territory of the State of Palestine or of Israel, without endangering Israel’s existence. We call upon the international community, especially Europe, for political and financial support."
Faculty For Israeli-Palestinian Peace
"Peaceful coexistence between Israel and Palestine is the resolution to the conflict supported by virtually all interested parties. Future cooperation between the two peoples and the enormous resulting regional benefits expected, make the pursuit of such a goal imperative. We have no doubt that it is possible to reach such a brighter future, and we strongly believe that actions and policies moving in that direction are not only crucially needed, but that they can and must be pursued NOW. We strongly believe that no justice and no peace can be achieved without Israeli withdrawal from all occupied territories, and that anybody truly and honestly favoring peaceful coexistence must support such withdrawal."
Foundation for Global Community
"In July, 1992, here on the San Francisco Peninsula, as part of a larger public peace process we invited American Palestinians and Jews to begin a long-term dialogue together to discover common ground and improve the environment for reconciliation here in America. Today we are about 20 Palestinians and Jews, and 10 "others." Many participants have come and gone from our group, taking the experience with them. (Here is a photo.) In 2006, after 173 meetings and fourteen years, with a clear mission and vision, we continue moving from caution to integrity, from alienation to familiarity, from ignorance to understanding, from resistance to response, from confrontation to collaboration."
Geneva Initiative - The Official Website
"The Geneva Initiative provides realistic and achievable solutions on all issues, based on previous official negotiations, international resolutions, the Quartet Roadmap, Clinton Parameters, Bush Vision, and Arab Peace Initiative. In addition to presenting a detailed blueprint for Israeli-Palestinian peace, the GI aims to bring that moment of peace closer, by showing the way and preparing public opinion and leadership to be accepting of the real compromises required to solve the conflict."
German-Israeli Working Group for Peace in the Middle East
"The 'German-Israeli Working Group for Peace in the Middle East' was founded in 1977. Due to the differences with regard to the evaluation of Israeli government policy the founding members had broken away from the "German-Israeli Society". Oriented towards the right of self-determination of both peoples, the Jewish-Israeli and the Palestinian-Arab, The "German-Israeli Working Group for Peace in the Middle East" sees one of its main concerns in supporting the political forces for compromise on both sides of the conflict."
Gush Shalom - The Israeli Peace Bloc
"The Green Line (the borders before the 1967 war) will be a border of peace between two free and sovereign states: Israel and Palestine. All Israeli settlers in the currently occupied territories will return to Israel. Jerusalem will be an open city, and will serve as capital to both states: East Jerusalem will be the capital of Palestine; West Jerusalem will be the capital of Israel. Both parties can reach a just and agreed upon solution for the tragedy of Palestinian refugees, based on these guidelines: Israel will acknowledge its share of responsibility for this tragedy, and will accept, in principle, the right of return. The refugees will be offered several possible venues of rehabilitation and compensation. One of these venues will allow a limited number of refugees the right to return to the state of Israel, based on a formula that will maintain the Jewish majority in the state of Israel. These positions do not offer absolute justice, but rather a formula that can be accepted by the majority of the Israeli and Palestinian peoples."
Hagada Hasmalit
"Hagada Hasmalit (The Left Bank, Hebrew הגדה השמאלית) is an Israeli radical left wing website. First published in Hebrew in Spring 2002, it is one of the most widely read websites among the radical left in Israel. An English version began in March 2007. Hagada Hasmalit features articles and commentary by Jewish-Israeli and Palestinian writers from an anti-Zionist, Marxist or anarchist perspective. All oppose the 1967 Occupation of the West Bank and Gaza, and critique social and economic issues inside Israel. Hagada Hasmalit supported various campaigns over the years including the campaign to free Mordechai Vanunu, the struggle against the Israeli West Bank barrier in Bil'in, Tali Fahima and the refuseniks."
Hanitzotz - A Sharara Publishing House
"Hanitzotz - A Sharara Publishing House (HPH) is a non-profit organization founded in 1985 by human-rights activists in Israel. Our primary goal is a just solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. We call for the emergence of a viable, sovereign Palestinian State in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. We also seek full equality for those Arabs who live inside Israel, as well as acknowledgement of their Palestinian national identity."
International Jewish Peace Union
This page just provides contact information for the San Francisco based organization from the Bay Area Progressive Directory.
International Jewish Solidarity Network
"The International Jewish Solidarity Network is a growing international network of Jews whose Jewish identities are not based on nationalism but on a plurality of histories and experiences. We are committed to the struggle against the colonization of Palestine and the building of a Zionist Jewish state that began in 1948. We stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people because Israel and the Zionist ideology propelling it a) endanger all inhabitants of the region, b) will lead to further ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian people, c) encourage the demonization of Arabs and Muslims everywhere, d) result in the racist repression and invisibility of Jews of Arab descent and from Muslim countries, e) distort and debase Jewish cultures, whether religious or secular, f) implicate us in the oppression of others by conflating Judaism and Jewish identities with Zionist principles and practices. Zionism has exploited the history of Jewish suffering as a justification for colonial expropriation and dispossession. We denounce this exploitation and violence to claim a role in the global struggles for racial, economic and gender justice."
Israeli Committee Against House Demolitions
"ICAHD is a non-violent, direct-action group originally established to oppose and resist Israeli demolition of Palestinian houses in the Occupied Territories. As our activists gained direct knowledge of the brutalities of the Occupation, we expanded our resistance activities to other areas - land expropriation, settlement expansion, by-pass road construction, policies of "closure" and "separation," the wholesale uprooting of fruit and olive trees and more. The fierce repression of Palestinian efforts to "shake off" the Occupation following the latest Intifada has only added urgency to our efforts."
Israeli Committee Against House Demolitions - United Kingdom
"ICAHD UK supports the work of the Israeli Committee Against House Demolitions (ICAHD) in Israel. ICAHD campaigns against Israeli occupation and oppression by: a) publicising the injustice and illegality of the occupation; b) organising Israelis and Palestinians physically to resist house demolitions and to rebuild demolished homes; c) lobbying in Israel and internationally. ICAHD UK raises money for and promotes this work, and lobbies at every level of government in the UK. The objective of both organisations is to help achieve a just and sustainable peace between Israelis and Palestinians."
Israeli Committee Against House Demolitions - USA
"ICAHD-USA was incorporated as an independent non-profit organization in July, 2004, in order to help raise awareness in the US of the Israeli government’s demolition of Palestinian homes and its gradual annexation of Palestinian land in the West Bank and East Jerusalem. ICAHD-USA also seeks to educate the American public about campaigns by the Israeli Committee Against House Demolitions (ICAHD) in Israel/ Palestine. The Israeli Committee Against House Demolitions in Jerusalem is a non-violent, direct-action group originally established to oppose and resist the Israeli demolition of Palestinian houses in the Occupied Territories. ICAHD-USA supports the work of the Israeli Committee Against House Demolitions in Israel."
Israeli Council for Israeli-Palestinian Peace
"ICIPP, the Israeli Council for Israeli-Palestinian Peace, was formed in late 1975 by a group of prominent Israeli Zionists as a private Israeli initiative in response to signs of moderation that they perceived in the Palestinian national movement and that the Israeli Government seemed intent on ignoring. ... ICIPP has never forgotten that even after Israeli withdrawal to the 1967 borders, many Palestinians will continue to live in Israeli territory, and that Israel, by abolishing all discriminatory laws and practices, must make it possible for these Palestinians to feel themselves truly equal citizens of Israel."
Israeli Regional Peace Movement
"In March 2002 in Beirut the Arab League put forward a proposal calling for peace in the Middle East and normalization of relations with Israel on the basis of an Israeli withdrawal from all Arab territories occupied in 1967; a just solution to the Palestinian refugee problem; and the establishment of a sovereign and independent Palestinian state in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. ... We believe that if more Israelis knew about the Initiative and had the opportunity to discuss and explore its implications public pressure on the government would build rapidly and lead to measurable progress towards regional peace."
Jewish Conscience
"In the past six weeks, Israel bombed Lebanon and gaza, killing over 1,100 civilians and destroying water treatment plants, airports and roads. These actions do not represent our Jewish values. This is not where we want our U.S. tax dollars to go. More violence will never lead to justice, peace or security. The region needs rebuilding not re-occupation, and a real cease-fire. Destroying Lebanese and Palestinian societies is a crime, not a security policy."
The Jewish-Palestinian Discussion Group in the Basel Area
"We, Palestinian and Jewish families of the region of Basel and our relatives and friends who support us in this matter, unified in our concern and commitment for an understanding and a lasting and just peace between our people, aware of the fact that this peace can only be based on the principle of two independent states and on the recognition of acknowledged principles of international law, convinced that people in Palestine and in Israel need the support of Jews and Palestinians all over the world, in an endeavour to get as many Jews and Palestinians as possible, where ever they live, to commit themselves to principles according to which they are prepared to think and act, ..."
The Jewish Peace Fellowship
"The Jewish Peace Fellowship has always strongly supported Israel's right to exist, while at the same time recognizing the right of Palestinians to their own country and government. We support peace forces in Israel and in Palestinian areas and deplore both Israeli and Palestinian violence and all efforts to scuttle the peace process. We believe that both peoples can only survive in peaceful coexistence and cooperation with one another as well as with their neighbors."
Jewish Voice for a Just Peace between Israel and Palestine
"The goals we have set for ourselves: To support peace initiatives in Israel and Palestine; To present representatives of peace-seeking voices to the Swiss public; Using our position statement to convene Jewish and Palestinian residents of Switzerland and to enable them to engage in a dialogue which will further peace efforts as well as to improve understanding here."
Jewish Voice for Peace
"JVP is the voice of the overwhelming majority of American Jews who, as polls consistently show, support a peaceful resolution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and an end to Israel?s Occupation of Palestinian land. Although many mainstream American Jewish organizations continue to call for "unwavering support" of Israel, JVP demonstrates that those groups are not representative. We further prove that criticizing Israeli policy is not anti-Semitic, and that Jewish tradition requires justice for Palestinians and Jews."
Jewish Witnesses for Peace and Friends
"Jewish Witnesses for Peace and Friends have organized weekly vigils on Saturday morning at Beth Israel Congregation, a Conservative synagogue in Ann Arbor, since September, 2003. ... The organized Jewish community has declared war on the vigils. City Council passed a resolution against the vigils, ... This follows public threats against council by a member of Beth Israel, who posted an "open letter" on the so-called AASPURN web site, which seeks to raise money for Israel against the vigilers. The Councilmember who drafted the resolution claims absurdly that the vigils violate a state law against disrupting religious services (among other falsehoods in the resolution) and decries the "enormous pain" caused by the vigils, and the impotence of the people targeted---including the local movers and shakers of organized Jewry, who raise funds and organize events and dominate opinion on Israel's behalf."
Jewish Women for Justice in Israel and Palestine
"We support an immediate end to Israel's immoral and illegal occupation of the West Bank, Gaza and East Jerusalem and evacuation of the unlawful Jewish settlements it has used to subvert the establishment of a viable Palestinian state. ... We condemn all attacks on civilians, no matter who the perpetrators. We are painfully aware of the imbalance of power between the massive army and resources of the State of Israel, and the desperation of the Palestinians, impoverished and brutalized under Occupation. ... We oppose all manifestations of the occupation, including military siege and assault; house demolitions; crop destructions; vastly unequal distribution of the area's resources, such as water and electricity; economic strangulation of the territories; administrative detention; roadblocks, curfews, closures, prevention of access to medical and other facilities, and all forms of collective punishment; and all excessive use of force, including torture, assassination, and summary execution."
Jews Against Oppression and Occupation
"We Australian Jews do not believe that the Israeli state is acting in the best interests of Jews – either in Israel or those who live in other parts of the world. Israel’s dispossession, discrimination against and murder of Palestinian people are crimes that should not be accepted by any human being. These crimes have also increased the insecurity of Jews everywhere."
Jews Against Oppression and Occupation (NZ)
"Israel's dispossession, discrimination against and murder of Palestinian people are crimes that should not be accepted by any human being. These crimes have also increased the insecurity of Jews everywhere. We believe that the fundamental cause of the current conflict between Israel and the Palestinian people is the dispossession of the Palestinians and their oppression at the hand of the Israeli state."
Jews Against the Occupation - New York City
"We as American Jews reject the Israeli government assertion that it is "necessary" to subjugate Palestinians for the sake of keeping Jews safe. We assert that security can only come from mutual respect, and that the occupation of Palestine is only worsening the position of Jews in the Middle East and around the world. ... The U.S. government provides more aid to Israel than to any other country—the vast majority of this is for military purposes. Billions of U.S. taxpayer dollars have propped up the occupation and fueled the Israeli government’s war machine (as well as disguising the occupation’s true cost). This aid must end. ... Thousands of Palestinians were driven out of their houses and off of their farms during and after the creation of Israel. They must be allowed to return to their homeland."
Jews Against The Occupation - Central New Jersey
Jews for a Just Peace - Vancouver
"Jews for a Just Peace is an organization of Jews living in Vancouver, BC, Canada whose purpose is to build support in our community for a fair and just solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Recognizing the inequality in the power of the two parties, we believe such a solution will be found through co-operation and dialogue, not through violence and intransigence. We are allied with similar Jewish, Palestinian and other groups, both within and outside Israel and the occupied territories, working in solidarity toward peace."
Jews for a Just Peace - North Carolina
"Jews for a Just Peace North Carolina is committed to a just and peaceful solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. We call for safe and secure states for Israel and Palestine, reached through a cessation of violence against civilians, respect for human rights, and an end to the Israeli occupation of the West Bank and Gaza. JFAJP-NC works through dialogue, forums, presentations and events."
Jews for Global Justice
"Israeli policy endangers Jews. It undermines the security of the Israeli populace while engendering a mounting anti-Israeli sentiment throughout the world that feeds anti-Semitism. True supporters of the survival of the Jewish people, of our rich culture and the noblest of our ideals: the fight for social justice, are those that question the "policy blunders" that disenfranchise and humiliate an entire people. Unfortunately there is not a vital debate on these issues in the United States like there is in Israel proper. Jews who won't unequivocally "stand behind Israel" are immediately labeled as self-haters by the American Jewish establishment."
Jews for Israeli-Palestinian Peace
"JIPF's first program was based on three main points: 1) Israelis and Palestinians must recognize each others national rights, including the right to a national state. 2) The Israeli government must recognize PLO as the representative of the Palestinians and the Palestinians must recognize the Israeli government as the representative of the Israelis. 3) In order to make possible the formation of a Palestinian state, Israel must withdraw from all territories occupied since 1967. The status of Jerusalem must be defined separately."
Jews for Justice for Palestinians
"Jews for Justice for Palestinians is a network of Jews who are British or live in Britain, practising and secular, Zionist and not. We oppose Israeli policies that undermine the livelihoods, human, civil and political rights of the Palestinian people. ... We work to build world-wide Jewish opposition to the Israeli Occupation, with like-minded groups around the world and are a founding member of European Jews for a Just Peace, a federation of Jewish groups in ten European countries ..."
Jews for Peace in Palestine and Israel
"Israel claims to speak on behalf of world Jewry through its policies and actions. Therefore, we believe that as Jews outside of Israel, we have both a right and obligation to speak out in favor of an Israel that pursues a reconciliatory, ethical, just, and democratic path both in its domestic and foreign policies."
Jews for Racial and Economic Justice
"JFREJ opposes the Israeli occupation of the West Bank, Gaza Strip and East Jerusalem and supports a negotiated, just and secure peace for Israelis and Palestinians. JFREJ opposes collective punishment and attacks on civilians. We take these positions while reaffirming that JFREJ is a community of Jews with diverse political and ideologial relationships to this situation-JFREJ members are Zionists and post-Zionists, non-Zionists, anti-Zionists and those with no identification with these framings. At the same time, we reiterate our belief in the Bundist tradition of doykayt ("hereness")-the idea that Jews, in coalition with others, should focus their struggle for universal equality and justice in the place where they live. In this spirit, JFREJ rejects the notion that as a Jewish American organization we are required to take a position on the Israel/Palestine conflict, nor do we believe that our identity or priorities as a Jewish organization should be determined by the actions of Jews in another country. We do believe that, in these instances, as residents of the United States, we have cause to speak out on matters related to our own government's foreign policies."
Jews of Belgium state their position and commit themselves
"In the light of the blatantly unequal balance of forces between the two sides and leniency shown by the United States towards Israel, bilateral negotiations between Israelis and Palestinians have very little chance of success unless pressure is exerted by the international community and especially by the European Union. The persistence of the current situation constitutes a serious threat to peace and political stability in the whole of the Middle East. We therefore ask the Belgian and European leaderships to ensure that international law prevail and to act determinedly so that Israel conform to it. We shall also take steps to make known all the appeals in this sense issued by those organisations involved, under extremely difficult circumstances, in the Israeli peace movement. We share the hopes and beliefs of the many Israelis who long for peace with their Palestinian neighbours and who today recognise their right to a sovereign and viable State. They know that this is the best guarantee for themselves to live in security in their own country and to defend its democratic values. "
Machsom Watch
"Machsom Watch was founded in January 2001 in response to repeated reports in the press about human rights abuses of Palestinians crossing army and border police checkpoints. The excessive Israeli response to the El Aksa Intifada, the prolonged closure and siege of villages and towns on the West Bank provided the stimulus and the motivation for what at first seemed an impossible mission. The initiative of three women – Ronnee Jaeger, a long time activist with experience of human rights work in Guatemala and Mexico, Adi Kuntsman a feminist scholar who emigrated from the former Soviet Union in 1990 and veteran activist Yehudit Keshet, an orthodox Jewess – Machsom Watch now boasts 400 women all over the country."
Matzpun (Hebrew for Conscience)
"The inhumane oppressor hopes that starving will help force the Palestinians to surrender, without having any "negative public opinion problems" that live ammunition may have had in Western media. Indeed, public opinion in the West has largely relaxed any protest against the Israeli government's policies of killing civilians --men, women and children-- since much of the killing is now being done away from the TV cameras. Human rights violations by the Palestinian Authority have also helped Israel to falsely portray itself again as the righteous victim. We call on the world community to organize and boycott Israeli industrial and agricultural exports and goods, as well as leisure tourism, in the hope that it will have the same positive result that the boycott of South Africa had on Apartheid."
MuzzleWatch
"MuzzleWatch is a project of Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP). Founded in 1996, Jewish Voice for Peace is a national grassroots peace organization dedicated to promoting a US foreign policy in the Middle East based on peace, democracy, human rights and respect for international law. With over 20,000 supporters and members, JVP’s board of Jewish American and Israeli advisors includes Pulitzer and Tony award winner Tony Kushner, actor Ed Asner, poet Adrienne Rich as well as other respected rabbis, artists, scholars and activists. MuzzleWatch is dedicated to creating an open atmosphere for debate about US-Israeli foreign policy by: a) shining a light on incidents that involve pressure, intimidation, and outright censorship of critics of US-Israeli policy; b) showing that there is a real environment of intimidation that keeps people from speaking honestly and openly making groups that use silencing tactics accountable; c) While the site encourages people from across the political spectrum to debate freely and vigorously, personal or excessively abusive attacks will not be tolerated. Repeat offenders may be banned from the board."
New Profile: Movement for the Civil-ization of Israeli Society
"New Profile aims to transform Israel from a highly militaristic society to a civilian society dedicated to equality of gender and ethnicity and firmly based on universal human rights. One of several characteristics of militarism is the use of force to obtain political objectives. New Profile deems Israel’s occupation of the Palestinians to be a use of force to obtain the political objective of creating the ‘greater Israel.’ New Profile opposes the Occupation on three counts: 1) Its destruction of Palestinian life, society, land, and property. 2) Its role in maintaining militarism in Israel. 3) Its erosion of Israel’s socio-economic and moral fabric. We therefore seek non-violent means of ending this catastrophic Occupation. One such means is using economic sanctions to pressure the government to change its policy. To this end New Profile welcomes and supports selective divestment aimed at divesting from companies that contribute to the continuation of the Occupation by supplying arms, other equipment, or staff."
No Apartheid - Israeli Anti-Apartheid Movement
"The establishment of a Palestinian state truncated by a massive system of by-pass roads, encircles by Israeli settlement blocs, subject to closures and restrictions on freedom of movement and commerce, with no control of its borders or natural resources, will only create a reality of apartheid; a Palestinian state as a bantustan. We call upon the public of the State of Israel as well as public opinion worldwide to resist this dangerous reality. So long as the right of self-determination for the Palestine people is not implemented, including the right of return, there will be no peace."
Not In My Name: Seeking a Just Peace between Israelis & Palestinians
"We believe that such a peace can only be achieved when Israel withdraws from its settlements in the Palestinian territories and addresses the legitimate national and human rights of the Palestinian people. We do not accept that Jewish survival depends on unconditional support for the Israeli government and its policies. ..."
Occupation Magazine
"The aim of this website is to provide information and alternative commentary on the ongoing developments in the Occupied Territories - the West Bank and the Gaza Strip - in Hebrew, English and Russian. The need for such information arises since the ongoing devastation of the Palestinian land and people in the Occupied Territories is misrepresented in the Israeli and US media as "fight against terror" and a "just struggle for Israel's very existence and security". The Editors represent a range of opinions as to the optimal solution for the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. However, we are united in the belief that a viable solution must be based on the unconditional end to the Israeli military occupation, and on principles of equality, justice and mutual respect."
Online One State Bibliography in English
"In the case of Israel/Palestine, the simple truth is that it has been a de facto one state since 1967. Today, the only realistic path forward is to come to grips with this reality and begin working toward peace by making this de facto reality a de jure one. Israel, having an absolute monopoly on power since 1967, has made this inevitable today. Even if some sort of “two-state” Bantustan or ghetto scheme were to be implemented today, it will not result in peace but be little more than a temporary stalling tactic as the demographic balance continues to shift in favor of the Palestinians. The one state idea is an idea whose time has come."
The Other Israel
"The Other Israel, published approximately quarterly, aims to provide extensive coverage of the diverse struggles waged by the Israeli peace movement at large. It reports on a great variety of activities, most of which find little or no mention in the world media. It also contains commentaries on events in Israel and the Middle East from a perspective in which the interests of Israelis and Palestinians are ultimately reconcilable. More and more Israelis, Palestinians and interested groups and individuals all over the world are responding to The Other Israel. The newsletter is available at libraries in Israel, in the Occupied Territories, and in universities throughout the world. It is used as a source by journalists and quoted by political scientists."
Palestinian & Jewish Unity
"The Palestinian and Jewish Unity (PAJU) is a human rights organization that explicitly recognizes the right of the Palestinian people to national existence and to live in security. We condemn all violations of human rights. PAJU was co-founded in Montreal by Bruce Katz, a Jewish Canadian and Rezeq Faraj, a Palestinian Canadian who have been friends for more than 25 years. Our group is comprised of Jews, Palestinians and other Canadians of good conscience who work together to promote peace in the Middle East and to educate the public on the Palestinian question."
The Parents Circle - Families Forum
"Calling for reconciliation and a peaceful end to the conflict, the organization naturally expanded to include not only Israelis but also Palestinians bereaved families who have lost a close family member as a result of the conflict. The Families Forum, as the expanded group of about 500 families is called, seeks to solve the ongoing conflict between Israelis and Palestinians through dialogue and mutual understanding. We call on all parties to promote reconciliation as the only way to reach true co-existence and peace."
Peace in the Middle East
"We started out as a small group of Jewish Americans (mostly university professors) who got together by e-mail in April 2002 to draft this Open Letter. It took off more rapidly than we ever dreamed, with hundreds of people spontaneously offering contributions to help publish it as a full-page advertisement in the New York Times. We have no organizational ambitions of our own. Our goals are to publish the Open Letter as widely as possible, both in the U.S. and in the Middle East, and to put our supporters in contact with existing Jewish peace organizations that have long-term educational and lobbying strategies."
The People's Voice
"The People's Voice is a new Israeli-Palestinian civil initiative that aims to advance the process of achieving peace. The People's Voice will launch a public process whose goal is to influence the leaders on both sides, including a mass signing of a joint Statement of Intentions that is based on the "two states for two peoples" formula. The leaders of the initiative are Ami Ayalon and Dr. Sari Nusseibeh together with public councils and field activists."
Physicians for Human Rights - Israel
"Physicians For Human Rights-Israel was founded in 1988 with the goal of struggling for human rights, in particular the right to health, in Israel and the Occupied Territories. ... Our activities integrate advocacy and action toward changing harmful policies and direct action providing healthcare. Today Physicians For Human Rights-Israel has more than 1150 members, over half of whom are healthcare providers. ..."
Radio All For Peace
"Radio All for Peace has four aims to its mission: To introduce a different kind of media discourse to the Palestinian-Israeli scene, one that looks equally at both sides, in an unbiased, responsible and balanced way. ... To become the home of every NGO and individual who works for peace, coexistence, human rights, environment and justice and provide them a platform to publicize their work and connect with others."
SIVMO:
Steuncomité Israelische Vredesgroepen en Mensenrechtenorganisaties
"We, Jews in The Netherlands, are in favor of: A policy based on dialogue and tolerance in Israel, instead of a policy based on brute force and the arrogance of power; Peace negotiations leading to a lasting, non-violent and just solution of this conflict, which will result in a Palestinian state beside the state of Israel; Jerusalem as the capital of two states, which is what the Israeli peace movement itself advocates; And we support the democratic forces in Israel who believe that equal rights and opportunities apply to Palestinian Israeli’s as well as to Jewish Israeli’s ..."
Support Sanity
"Support Sanity is an independent public campaign doing its part by building massively-visible mass support for an evenhanded two-state solution by promoting the mass display of a simple, "symmetrically-affirmative" symbol: the Israeli and Palestinian flags crossed in friendship over the motto “Justice · Peace · Life”. To us this symbol represents the only solution that makes sense – two equally secure, viable and sovereign states for two equally worthy peoples. For only with symmetry can there be justice.
Ta'ayush Arab Jewish Partnership
"We -- Arab and Jewish citizens of Israel -- live surrounded by walls and barbed wire: the walls of segregation, racism, and discrimination between Jews and Arabs within Israel; ... In the fall of 2000 we joined together to form "Ta'ayush" (Arabic for "life in common"), a grassroots movement of Arabs and Jews working to break down the walls of racism and segregation by constructing a true Arab-Jewish partnership. A future of equality, justice and peace begins today, between us, through concrete, daily actions of solidarity to end the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories and to achieve full civil equality for all Israeli citizens.
Tikkun: "A Jewish Magazine, an Interfaith Movement"
"We are committed to full and complete reconciliation between Israel and the Palestinian people within the context of social justice for the Palestinians and security for Israel. We call upon Israel to end the Occupation, to return settlers to the pre-1967 borders of Israel (providing them with decent housing), and to take major (though not total) responsibility for Palestinian refugees. We oppose Israel’s violations of Palestinian human rights and we insist that Israel adopt a strategy based on open-heartedness toward the Palestinians, repentance for past misdeeds, reparation, and genuine acknowledgement of the ways that some Israelis were oppressive, murderous, and oblivious to the legitimate needs of the Palestinian people. ..."
UAVJ: Une Autre Voix Juive
"The "Union des Progressistes Juifs de Belgique" - Union of Progressive Jews in Belgium, has committed itself in the struggle for an equitable solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, based on the co-existence of two sovereign and viable states within the borders of June the 4th 1967, with Jerusalem as a common capital and a negotiated and equitable solution for all parties concerning the difficult question of refugees. ... We also observe with great dismay the growing hysteria of a part of the Jewish community in the Diaspora, attitude inducing some of its members to accept what's "unacceptable" and we do dissociate ourselves from those Jewish associations supporting unconditionally the Israeli government. We assert that the actual policy of the Israeli government does not ensure either the security of its citizens either peace in the area."
Visions of Peace with Justice in Israel/Palestine
"Visions of Peace with Justice in Israel/Palestine (VOPJ) is an association of Jews in Greater Boston working to promote a lasting peace between Israelis and Palestinians based on mutual respect, justice, and equality. VOPJ is an independent Jewish voice which represents a variety of alternative perspectives on the Israeli/Palestinian conflict. We embody a cross-section of the Jewish community, united by a commitment to Jewish values and a desire to see an end to the suffering on all sides. We condemn all killings of civilians, in Israel and the Occupied Territories, whether committed by members of the Israeli army or members of armed Palestinian groups."
Women Against the Wall
We, citizens of Israel, accuse you [Sharon] of being guilty of ruining the peace process and of a policy of violence and illegal activities against the Palestinians. The bombs, the assassinations, the killings, the demolition of houses, collective punishment, checkpoints, closures and curfews have only increased the suicide bombings in our streets. ... We do not agree to take part in or to permit the annexations by the Wall which you are building and which go against all principles of justice, morality and law and which harm both Palestinians and Israelis. We do not agree that in our name parents are being separated from their children, pregnant women from their hospitals, farmers from their land and students from their schools and universities."
Women in Black International
"Women In Black New York stand in silent vigil to protest war, rape as a tool of war, ethnic cleansing and human rights abuses all over the world. ... Women in Black is an international peace network. Women in Black is not an organization, but a means of mobilization and a formula for action. Women in Black vigils were started in Israel in 1988 by women protesting against Israel’s Occupation of the West Bank and Gaza."
Yesh Din
"Established in March 2005, Yesh Din is comprised of volunteers who have organized to oppose the continuing violation of Palestinian human rights in the Occupied Palestinian Territory. Some of us have long been active in defending human rights, and others have just recently joined the struggle. We have different personal, professional, and political backgrounds but are united by our deep concern over the serious damage the occupation is inflicting on both Palestinian and Israeli societies. Our mission is to achieve a long-term structural improvement in the human rights situation in the OPT. We work for an immediate and meaningful change in the Israeli authorities' practices by documenting and disseminating accurate and up-to-date information about the systematic violation of human rights in the OPT, by raising public awareness of such violations, and by applying public and legal pressures on government agencies to end them."
Zochrot: Al Nakba in Hebrew
"The Nakba (‘catastrophe’ in Arabic) refers to the destruction of Palestinian villages and cities and the expulsion of their residents in 1948. The tragedy that befell the Palestinian people is silenced in Israel and is absent from the physical and cultural landscape. Zochrot’s purpose is to raise awareness to the wrongdoings inflicted by the state and its institutions against the Palestinian people, to advance the recognition of their moral debt, and to promote the fulfillment of the Right of Return for Palestinian refugees. ..."
Jewish Political Groups
The organizations in this section are specifically political in nature and work for peace from a political perspective.
Australian Jewish Democratic Society
"AJDS supported mutual recognition between Israel and the Palestinians (including the PLO) leading to a two-state solution. AJDS believes that local Jewish opposition to a two-state solution was ultimately self-defeating since a Palestinian State would inevitably emerge due to internal and external pressures. They believed that it was in Israel's best interests to facilitate such an outcome in a manner commensurate with Israel's security needs, rather than potentially having such an outcome imposed unilaterally from outside. They argued that Diaspora support for a hard-line stand on territory could only lead to on-going bloodshed since it was ignoring the reality of Palestinian national existence and aspirations. Thus contrary to allegations by some mainstream critics, AJDS was never an anti-Zionist organization."
The Bundist Voice
"Zionism has, strangely enough, both combined and separated the two notions of Judaism as a nationality and Judaism as a religion. It has also befuddled the boundaries between national-self identification and nationalism. In response to these notions, some Israeli Leftists have been examining an alternative. At a gathering this month in Bund House in Tel Aviv, they tried to sort out the mess of the concepts of Leftism, Jewishness, Israeliness and socialism. The Bund was a socialist labourers’ (actually workers’) movement that was active in pre-revolutionary Poland and Russia. Yitzhak Luden, who together with a few of his comrades has been keeping the flame burning, spoke at the gathering and simply but clearly sketched out the combined message of the Bund’s banner: A socialist Jewish movement. When workers are being discriminated against, he said, the Bund struggles alongside them. If Jews are in danger in any country, the Bund joins their struggle. Herein lies the fundamental difference between Zionism and Bundism: not all Jews are expected to pack their belongings and make Aliya to Israel. On the contrary, says Luden: A Jew’s homeland is his or her country of residence."
Communist Party of Israel
"We again emphasize our support for a comprehensive and just peace, the centre of which is an independent Palestinian state in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, with East Jerusalem as it’s capital, and the solution of the refugee problem in accordance with the UN resolutions. We warn against the attempt to impose the so-called “Interim Palestinian State”, whose’ goal is the justification of preventing territorial unity between the West Bank and Gaza, and to prevent the establishment of an independent Palestinian state alongside Israel."
Hadash
Hadash - The Democratic Front for Peace and Equality is a coalition based on the Communist Party of Israel and non-communist groups and individuals, Jewish and Arab, commited to a common platform of peace, equality and social justice. Hadash supports the complete withdrawal from the Occupied Territories.
Jewish Left-Wing Community Website
"This website and group is not made up of one single political idea but instead it is created by individuals with a variety of Left-Wing beliefs (Marxist, Anarchist, Social Democratic, Animal Rights, and Environmentalist) working together to support exiting Jewish and Non-Jewish Political Organisations. ... Our website works in general for five different goals: 1) To support and build support for the Peace movement in Israel; 2) To campaign against the Neo-Con and Free-Market policies of all governments; 3) To raise support for Left-Wing politics within the Diaspora Jewish Communities; 4) To defend Jewish Communities from Anti-Semitism and to defend Muslim, Gypsy and other groups against racism; 5) To inform the Jewish Communities (whom are largely unaware of what has been occurring) about the brutality of the Occupation against the Palestinians."
Jewish Peace Lobby
"Our central focus is US foreign policy. We seek policies which will promote the long-term security of Israel as well as promote a humane Israel in which democratic values and human rights are protected. We seek policies which will promote the rights and well-being of the Palestinian people. To these ends, we will regularly engage US policy makers. In addition, we will engage Israeli and Palestinian policy makers. Up to now, a single lobbying organization has presented itself as speaking for the Jewish community. Their view of what is to be "pro-Israel" is to give largely uncritical support for any actions of any Israeli government. We have a different conception. ..."
Jewish People's Liberation Organization (JPLO)
"The Jewish People's Liberation Organization, a non-zionist formation, acts on behalf of the Jewish and Palestinian Peoples to generate national emancipation in cooperation with the Palestinian movement for the liberation of Palestine, as a contribution to making war unneeded and unwanted. As an ally of the Palestinian People in this struggle, we greet the Palestine National Council in solidarity...."
Jewish Socialist Group
"We support unconditionally the independence and national right to self determination, including statehood, of both the Israeli Jews and Palestinian Arabs. Jerusalem should be the capital of both Israel and the Palestinian state. We condemn the military occupation of the West Bank and Gaza and the denial of basis human and civil rights to Palestinians. We call for the removal of Jewish settlements from territories occupied in 1967. ..."
Maavak Sotzyalisti - CWI in Israel
"Our Demands: ... Oppose all attempts to divide workers and discriminate against them on the basis of nationality, political opinion, language, race, religion, gender, sexual orientation or physical or mental disability. Fight all attempts to repress individuals or groups on the basis of nationality, culture or ideology (excluding groups, such as racists, who aim to harm other individuals). For a united workers struggle. ... Oppose the occupation and the repression of the Palestinian masses - Get the army out the Territories. For an Independent Socialist Palestine alongside a Socialist Israel, as part of a future socialist confederation of the middle-east."
Middle East Project: A Single State Solution
"The time has come for all of us to get together behind the only just and feasible solution to the Israeli/Palestinian conflict. It has come to be known as "the one state solution." Here are some excellent articles on the subject, starting with our featured articles of the week, followed by a selection of the best arguments in favor of One State, a suggested Manifesto proclaiming the new nation (complete with flag), the most recent additions to the site, a book list, primary links, ..."
Organization for Democratic Action
"THE ODA (Da'am in Arabic) is a Marxist party operating inside Israel to organize the working class, especially the Arab workers. We oppose the current Israeli regime, which discriminates against the Arab citizens (20% of the population). We also oppose the Israeli occupation of the West Bank and Gaza Strip. The ODA does not belong to any international organization, but we consider ourselves part of the worldwide anti-war and anti-globalization movement. ..."
Progressive Jewish Alliance
" The Progressive Jewish Alliance believes that a just resolution of the Israeli—Palestinian conflict must — and ultimately will — result in a two—state solution, with an independent Palestine existing peacefully next to a secure Israel, and with Jerusalem serving as a capital for both states. But peace will not be achieved through violence. All parties must immediately stop fighting and return to the negotiating table."
Psychological Freedom Now!
[Israeli anarchists & allies] "Class war against all kinds of repression, exploitation and marginalization Against colonialist Zionism, and all other reactionaries of the region. For social revolution of the East of the Mediterranean. ..."
Jewish Religious Groups
The organizations in this section are religious - Orthodox, Conservative, Reform, and others - that are working for peace in one way or another.
American Council for Judaism
"One of our major principles affirms that Judaism is primarily a universal religious commitment, rather than an ethnic or nationalist identity. ... This dynamic view of Jewish history rejects the concept that we are in 'exile'. Our link to the land of Israel is a deep historic one, as the 'cradle of our faith' – but Israel is not our 'homeland'. We believe that America alone is our homeland, not only geographically, but because Jewish Biblical values of freedom, liberty and justice have helped shape the democratic tradition of the United States from the beginning. ... We are American Jews – proud, loyal, responsible citizens of the United States, fully embracing our rights and obligations to our country. We are also part of the timeless, universal 'House of Israel', but we have no political allegiance to the modern State of Israel."
Israel Versus Judaism
"This website was created to expose the violence and oppression perpetrated by the Zionists and their State of "Israel" against the Jewish people who remain true to the Almighty, Judaism and the Torah. Judaism does not condone violence. Judaism demands that Jews be good citizens of the countries in which they reside and that they live peacefully with respect for and subservience to the ruling powers. Judaism teaches us, that the right for the Jewish people to have self rule in the Holy Land is not unconditional. Since the destruction of our Holy Temple over two thousand years ago, the Jewish people have been exiled from this land by Divine decree. The Talmud tells us that G-d obligated us not to rebel against the ruling bodies, and not to take the land of Israel by force (see Babylonian Talmud tractate Kesubos 111A)."
Jews Not Zionists
"No one has had to create any antagonism between our Torah and Zionism because such antagonism exists by virtue of the essence of Judaism itself, which can never tolerate the heresy of Zionism. Zionism is wrong from the Torah viewpoint, not because many of its adherents are lax in practice or even anti-religious, but because its fundamental principle conflicts with the Torah. Unfortunately, due to many undesirable factors, the view of Torah-true Jewry has been concealed from the general public. ..."
Kehilla Synagogue
"Kehilla Community Synagogue's vision is to create a living Judaism through a sustainable Jewish Renewal community. We are: ... a community that works together to make a unique contribution to bringing justice, compassion, peace, and healing to our community and the world; ... a caring community where we support one another, a community in support of a Jewish homeland in the state of Israel, as well as in support for the right of the Palestinians to their own homeland; ... "
Nahalat Shalom: Inheritance of Peace
"As people of faith, we give witness to our belief that peace between Israel and Palestine is possible. As people of faith, we mourn the tragic loss of innocent life, especially the children. We call for an end to violence and the speedy establishment of a free and secure Palestinian state along side a free and secure Israeli state. We support the voices on all sides who remain committed to honoring the dignity and security of both peoples. In this time of despair, we choose hope. ..."
Neturei Karta International
"Neturei Karta oppose the so-called "State of Israel" not because it operates secularly, but because the entire concept of a sovereign Jewish state is contrary to Jewish Law. All the great rabbis who in accordance with Jewish Law opposed Zionism at its inception did not do so merely due to consideration of the secular lifestyles of the then Zionist leaders or even for their opposition to Torah heritage and rejection of its values and practices, but due to the fact that the entire concept of a Jewish state is in direct conflict with a number of Judaism's fundamentals. ..."
Oz VeShalom - Netivot Shalom
"We seek to effect a fundamental change within the national religious community and throughout Israeli society by endeavoring to: Demonstrate support for the peace process on the basis of political reality and justice; Enhance Jewish unity and pluralism among Israel's religious and secular publics; Practice coexistence and support for equality for Israel's Arab minority; Advocate political rights for Palestinians, including the establishment of a Palestinian state. ..."
Rabbis for Human Rights
"Rabbis for Human Rights - was founded in 1988, in response to serious abuses of human rights by the Israeli military authorities in the suppression of the Intifada. The indifference of much of the country’s religious leadership and religiously identified citizenry to the suffering of innocent people seen as the enemy was a cause of concern toRabbis for Human Rights organizers. ... [and] is involved in ecumenical dialogue and educational activities. In addition to dealing with violations of human rights of West Bank Palestinians and Israeli Arabs."
The Shalom Center
"God and history — use either word or both — demand that the two families of Abraham — the Jewish people that tradition regards as descended from Abraham and Sarah through Isaac, and the Palestinian people that tradition regards as descended from Abraham and Hagar through Ishmael — share in justice and peace the land that was the land of Abraham, each governing itself with respect and compassion for the other. ..."
Torah True Jews Against Zionism
"True Torah Jews is a non-profit organization formed by a group of religious Orthodox Jews dedicated to informing the world and the American public and politicians in particular, that the idealogy of Zionism is in total opposition to the teachings of traditional Judaism."
Other Jewish Groups
The organizations in this section are more specialized than general peace groups, but are not directly political or religious.
The Association for Civil Rights in Israel
"The Association for Civil Rights in Israel (ACRI) was founded in 1972 as a non-political and independent body, with the goal of protecting human rights in Israel, the territories that are, in effect, subject to its control, and anywhere that a violation of human rights is a direct result of action taken by Israel`s state authorities. The founders of ACRI rooted their vision in the principles and rights articulated in the Declaration of Independence, and in the United Nation’s Universal Declaration on Human Rights, which was drafted under the influence of the horrors seen during the Second World War. Today, ACRI is Israel’s largest and leading human rights organization, and the only body to address the full range of human rights... ."
Bimkom - Planners for Planning Rights
"Bimkom's point of departure is that spatial planning impacts on the community, society, and basic human rights. ... As a professional organization, Bimkom strives to achieve the right to equality and social justice in matters of planning, development, and the allocation of land resources, and assists communities and minorities affected by social and economic disadvantage and by civil rights' discriminations to exercise their rights in this area."
Birthright Unplugged
"We reject the notion of a “birthright,” as embodied in Jewish-only fully-funded trips to Israel. Israel has ignored the internationally recognized right of return for refugees, but has created a “Law of Return” which extends citizenship benefits to any person of Jewish heritage, excluding millions of Palestinians born in the land that has become Israel. Our programs attempt to address this injustice by facilitating access typically denied to the communities with whom we work. Jewish people often face obstacles of fear and lack of knowledge which can deter them from pursuing this kind of experience on their own."
B'Tselem - The Israeli Center for Human Rights in the Occupied Territories
"As an Israeli human rights organization, B'Tselem acts primarily to change Israeli policy in the Occupied Territories and ensure that its government, which rules the Occupied Territories, protects the human rights of residents there and complies with its obligations under international law."
Firedoll Foundation
"We believe that both the Palestinian and Jewish people have a legitimate claim to their common homeland, and that a just and lasting resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is possible. The Firedoll Foundation funds organizations which agree that the nations of Palestine and Israel have the right to share their ancient homeland in peace and security. This requires a viable, contiguous Palestinian state with the normal attributes of sovereignty. We are particularly interested in addressing the enormous need in Palestine for medical and economic aid."
Gisha: Center for the Legal Protection of Freedom of Movement
"Gisha: Center for the Legal Protection of Freedom of Movement is an Israeli not-for-profit organization that seeks to protect the fundamental rights of Palestinians living in the Occupied Territories by imposing human rights law as a limitation on the behavior of Israel’s military. ... wo elements distinguish Gisha’s work. First, Gisha exploits untapped potential for law reform effectuated through intensive engagement with the military bureaucracy, including administrative advocacy and negotiation. Second, Gisha focuses on the Gaza Strip, a severely underserved area whose viability depends on the ability of people and goods to move in and out of its borders. Gisha’s board includes legal academics and practitioners, women and men, Arabs and Jews, who have helped shape Israeli human rights law through their advocacy and writings."
HaMoked: Center for the Defence of the Individual
"HaMoked: Center for the Defence of the Individual is an Israeli human rights organization whose main objective is to assist Palestinians of the Occupied Territories whose rights are violated due to Israel's policies. This site contains information relating to these human rights violations."
JEWSRENOUNCE.ORG
"The following letter has now been signed by more than 200 Jews in the diaspora who thereby renounced their legal right to Israeli citizenship and was sent to the Israeli embassy in New York. By this gesture, the signers rejected any approval or support of Israel's dispossession of the Palestinian people, the brutality of its occupation, and the undemocratic/racist nature of its policies."
OccupationalHazard.org
"www.OccupationalHazard.org is an effort to confront the Israeli-Palestinian conflict honestly and constructively, towards the goal of replacing conflict with coexistence. We commit ourselves to presenting an accurate, balanced and current account of the conflict. We include in our account positive developments, on both sides of the conflict, that mainstream news media tend not to report. This site * warns of the hazards, for both peoples, of Israel's rule over territories occupied since 1967; * reports grassroots efforts, Palestinians and Israelis, on the way to rapprochement between the two peoples, noting their successes and the obstacles they face; * points out and corrects errors in accounts, the news media and others; * makes available news stories that have not had the exposure they deserve, as well as news from sources that have had no exposure. "
Refuser Solidarity Network
"We work to build support for and visibility of the Refusers and their movement, because we believe that these voices, these courageous stands against the folly of Occupation, are crucial to convincing the people of Israel that a new course must be chosen if there is to be lasting peace between Israelis and Palestinians."
RighteousJews.org
"RighteousJews.org was begun in 2003 as a way to commemorate the memory of those Palestinians who have been, and continue to be depopulated, dispossessed, humiliated, tortured, and murdered in the name of political Zionism and its quest to create a Jewish state in the lands between the Mediterranean and the Jordan River... RighteousJews.org was created to honor those who consider themselves to be Jewish and who have worked for the human rights of non-Jewish Palestinians."
